In creating All About the Strings, I deconstructed several pianos, extracting their strings and pins. These components were then repurposed into a suspended structure, enhanced with piano pins wrapped around a foundational piano string. The smaller piano strings exhibited a natural inclination to grab onto one another, suggesting a sort of embrace. I embraced this feature, allowing the strings to determine their arrangement. My goal is to capture the beauty inside the piano, constructing a visual soundscape that not only surprises viewers but shifts the focus from what an object was to what it can become.
